day one - sunday 08 april 2007

on top of the world

the journey begins

the day after my 30th birthday and it's time to embark on a trip around the world

edinburgh to london heathrow is the first of fifteen flights for me in the space of forty days

thankfully the purchase of a Priority Pass before departure means I'll have access to airport lounges across the globe, but only in edinburgh can i indulge in caramel wafers and irn-bru!

accompanied on the flight down to heathrow by the lads from wanstead rugby club, who’d spent the weekend with their boroughmuir counterparts and no doubt got up to no good

on arrival a transfer from terminal one to terminal four was required  for my connection to singapore

managed to find myself a seat beside a television in the holideck airport lounge to watch the masters from augusta  - my money was on tiger woods but ultimately he wasn't good enough on this occasion to beat zach johnson

eventually the time came to board flight ba09 to bangkok in thailand and my world tour was about to officially get underway...

day two - this way to bangkok
